Basic knowledge of stamping die terminology
1. Crimping
Flanging is a stamping process in which the edges of a process are rolled into a nearly closed circle. The axis of the rolled circle is in a straight line.
2. Roll edge
Flanging is a stamping process in which the upper edge of a hollow piece is rolled into a nearly closed circle.
3. Drawing
Drawing is a stamping process in which flat wool or working parts are changed into curved surfaces. The curved surface is formed mainly by extending the material at the bottom of the punch.
4. Pull and bend
Tensile bending is a stamping process in which the bending deformation is realized under the combined action of tension and bending moment, and the whole bending cross section is subjected to tensile stress.
5. Expansion
Bulging is a stamping process in which hollow or tubular parts are expanded radially outward. Cutting is a stamping process that divides the forming process into several parts.
6, level
Leveling is a stamping process to improve the flatness of local or overall flat parts.
7. Ups and downs take shape
It is a stamping process that relies on the extension of materials to form local depressions or protrusions. The change of material thickness in undulating forming is non-intentional, that is, a small change in thickness is formed naturally in the process of deformation, not specified by the design.
8. Bending
Bending is a stamping process in which a material is bent into a shape with a certain curvature and a certain Angle through plastic deformation caused by pressure.
9. Chisel
Chiseling is the blanking or punching process using a chiseling die with a sharp edge. Chisel and no lower die, pad in the material below the plate, the vast majority of the material is non-metallic.
10. Deep hole blanking
Deep hole blanking is a punching process where the aperture is equal to or less than the thickness of the material being blanked.
11. Blanking
Blanking is a stamping process in which materials are separated along a closed profile. The separated materials become workpieces or working parts, most of which are flat in shape.
12. Shrink
Indentation is a pressing process in which hollow or tubular parts are compressed to reduce their opening.
13. Plastic Surgery
Shaping is a stamping process that relies on the flow of materials to change the shape and size of the working parts in a small amount to ensure the accuracy of the workpiece.
14. Renovate
Trimming is a stamping process in which a small amount of material is cut along the contour or inner contour to improve the finish and verticality of the edge. The finishing process generally also improves dimensional accuracy.
15. Turn the hole
Flanging is a stamping process in which material is turned into a side flange around the inner hole.
16. Flanging
Flanging is a stamping process in which a material is turned into a short side edge around the contour curve.
17. Deep drawing
Drawing is a stamping process in which the flat wool or process is changed into a hollow part, or the hollow part is further changed in shape and size. During deep drawing, the hollow part is formed mainly by the flow of material beyond the bottom of the punch into the die.
18. Continuous deep drawing
Continuous deep drawing is a stamping method in which the desired shape and size is gradually formed through multiple drawing with the same pair of die (continuous deep drawing die) on the strip (coil).
19. Thin and deep drawing
Thinning drawing is a drawing process in which hollow parts are further changed in shape and size to intentionally thin the side walls.
20. Reverse drawing
Backdrawing is a deep drawing process in which the inner wall of the hollow working part is turned out.
21. Differential temperature drawing
Differential temperature drawing is a deep drawing process in which the temperature of the material to be deformed is much higher than that of the deformed material by means of heating and cooling, so as to improve the degree of deformation.
22. Hydraulic deep drawing
Hydraulic deep drawing is a deep drawing process in which a liquid is filled in a rigid or flexible container instead of a punch or die to form a hollow part.
23, pressure reinforcement
Compression bar is a type of undulating forming. When the local relief appears in the form of reinforcement, the corresponding relief forming process is called reinforcement
