Progressive Piercing Die For Steel Ladder Frame Channels

The channel enters the die from a straightener and moves through a series of punch stations. Each station pierces a group of holes at one pitch distance. The feed unit moves the channel by a set length, and the pilot pins lock into the last punched holes to make sure the next group is spaced correctly.

The punch holders are split into sections, so if a hole pattern changes, the factory can shift one section without rebuilding the whole die. This is useful for truck frame makers who build different models on the same line. The punch tips are made from high-speed steel with a hard coating to last through many hits.

The long die shoe is supported by extra legs to prevent bending under load. Scrap slugs fall through tubes in the shoe and are collected in bins. The top stripper uses heavy springs to pull the channel off the punches without marking the surface.
