Material: Upper and lower die shoes are made of QT600 ductile iron. The punch is made from forged Cr12MoV, the die block from T10A tool steel, and the backing plate from quenched 45# steel. Stripper springs are heavy-duty rectangular springs from Japan Toho (or equivalent).

Process: This compound die completes both punching and blanking in a single press stroke. The die and punch retainer plates are machined on a jig boring machine for high positional accuracy. Heat treatment involves salt bath quenching to achieve 58–62 HRC. During assembly, great care is taken to ensure the punch-to-die clearance is uniform, checked using a light transmission method. To withstand the heavy impact of thick plate blanking, limit posts and polyurethane dampers are integrated. During tryout on a high-tonnage hydraulic press at a speed of 12–18 strokes/min, a polished shear band of up to 30% of material thickness is achieved. The die comes with standard quick-clamping slots, allowing line changeovers in under 15 minutes.
