Basic requirements for mold manufacturing
In industrial production, the application of molds is to ensure product quality, improve work efficiency and reduce costs. Therefore, in addition to correctly designing the mold and adopting a reasonable mold structure, advanced mold manufacturing technology must also be used as a guarantee. When manufacturing molds, no matter which method is used, the following basic requirements should be met.
①High manufacturing precision. In order to produce qualified products and exert the effectiveness of the mold, the designed and manufactured mold must have high precision. Mold precision is mainly determined by product precision and mold structure requirements. In order to ensure the precision of the product, the precision of the working part of the mold is usually 2 to 4 grades higher than the precision of the product. At the same time, the mold has higher requirements for the cooperation of the upper and lower molds. Therefore, the parts that make up the mold must have sufficient height. Manufacturing accuracy, otherwise it will be impossible to produce qualified products, or even damage the mold. Therefore, only if the above two precision conditions are met at the same time, can the manufactured mold meet the requirements for use.
②Long service life. Molds are relatively expensive process equipment. At present, mold manufacturing costs account for about 10% to 30% of product costs. The length of its service life directly affects the level of product cost, and long-life dies are one of the basic conditions to ensure high production efficiency of stamping equipment. Therefore, except for special cases such as small batch production and trial production of new products, molds are generally required to have a longer service life. In the case of mass production, the service life of molds is more important.
③Short manufacturing cycle. The length of the mold manufacturing cycle mainly depends on the level of molding technology and management. In order to meet the needs of products coming to market quickly and improve the competitiveness of products, the manufacturing cycle of molds must be shortened as much as possible under the premise of ensuring quality.
④ Low mold cost. The mold cost is related to the complexity of the mold structure, mold material, manufacturing precision requirements and processing methods. Mold popularity must be reasonably designed and formulated according to product requirements, and its processing technology should be reduced as much as possible.
It must be pointed out that the above four indicators are interrelated and restrict each other. One-sided pursuit of manufacturing accuracy and service life will lead to an increase in manufacturing costs. Of course, it is not advisable to just reduce the composition and shorten the manufacturing cycle while ignoring the precision and service life of the mold. When designing and manufacturing molds, it should be fully considered according to the actual situation, that is, on the premise of ensuring the quality of the product, the mold structure and manufacturing method that are suitable for the production volume should be selected to minimize the cost of the mold.
