The mould is a multi-station progressive tool that works with thin, narrow metal strips. At each station, miniature punches cut, bend, and coin the strip until a finished connector pin emerges. The guide system keeps the strip positioned within microns, which is essential when pin spacing is less than a millimeter.

We make the insert punches from micro-grain carbide or high-speed steel, depending on the expected production volume. The cutting clearances are lapped to exact values, so the terminal edges come out sharp and clean, making assembly with automated insertion machines trouble-free.
