Process introduction
Wire cutting is short for CNC wire cutting machining, it is developed on the basis of electric discharge perforation, forming machining. The basic working principle of wire cutting is to use a moving wire as a tool electrode, and pulse current is passed between the wire and the workpiece, and the corrosion effect of pulse discharge is used to cut the workpiece.
Electric discharge wire cutting technology is a kind of special processing, it is different from the traditional processing technology need to use mechanical force and mechanical energy to cut, the main use of electric energy to realize the processing of materials. Therefore, electric discharge wire cutting technology is not limited by material properties, can process any hardness, strength, brittleness of the material, in the present stage of mechanical processing occupies a very important position.
Classification of wire-cut machine tools
According to the wire speed, the wire cutting machine can be divided into three categories: low speed one-way wire cutting machine (commonly known as "slow wire walking"), high speed reciprocating wire cutting machine (commonly known as "fast wire walking") and vertical rotary wire cutting machine.
Slow-moving wire
The cutting speed of the slow wire cutting machine is generally 0.2m/s, and the accuracy is up to 0.001mm, usually with copper wire as the electrode wire. The surface quality of the electrode wire is close to the grinding level when the electrode wire is moved in one direction at low speed. The surface quality is stable, uniform, low jitter, good processing quality and high production efficiency, up to 350/min.
Fast wire
Molybdenum wire is generally used as electrode wire of fast wire cutting machine (reciprocating wire cutting EDM machine), and the processing speed can reach 6~12m/s. Because the electrode wire is reciprocating in the process of processing, and the machine tool can not apply constant tension control to the electrode wire, so the phenomenon of electrode wire jitter will occur, resulting in broken wire. At the same time, reciprocating wire making electrode wire loss after repeated use, machining precision and workpiece surface quality will decrease.
Middle wire cutting machine belongs to the category of reciprocating high-speed wire cutting EDM machine, which realizes multiple cutting function on the high-speed reciprocating wire cutting EDM machine. The so-called "middle wire walking" is not the speed of wire walking, but refers to the reciprocating wire EDM wire cutting machine draws on the processing technology of some low speed wire walking machines, and realizes no-stripe cutting and multiple cutting.
Vertical rotary EDM wire-cut machine
Compared with the above two kinds of machine tools, the vertical rotary EDM wire-cut machine has more than one rotary motion around the axis of the electrode wire, and its processing speed is 1~2m/s. Due to the existence of rotary motion, a series of beneficial technological effects are produced in the machining process, such as: the electrode wire wear uniform, the life of the wire is extended; The motion stability of electrode wire is increased obviously and the breaking rate is decreased. Rotary motion can make small tension force to achieve higher machining accuracy.
