The first draw creates the bowl, followed by redrawing and ironing stages that refine the shape and smooth the surface. The die can accommodate single-bowl, double-bowl, and farmhouse style sink designs.

The punch and die inserts are made from alloyed ductile iron or high-carbon high-chromium tool steel, with working surfaces polished to Ra 0.05μm and treated with a TD (Thermal Diffusion) or PVD CrN coating. These coatings dramatically reduce galling when drawing stainless steel. Internally cooled punches maintain a stable operating temperature, preventing material adhesion and extending tool life.
