On a high-speed hydraulic press, this mould not only forms aluminum foil containers but also stacks them neatly. After forming, a burst of compressed air lifts the container and pushes it into a stacking chute mounted behind the press. The containers pile up in counted stacks, and the operator simply bags them.
The mould cavity is hard chrome-plated to prevent foil sticking, and the air holes are carefully positioned to lift evenly.

Changing over to a different container shape is fast because the punch and cavity inserts are bolted in place without glued-on details.
This automatic stacking feature saves a huge amount of hand labor. One person can look after several presses, collecting full stacks rather than picking individual containers.
