Raw material management is the core of cost control in mold factories, directly impacting production efficiency and product quality. Raw materials mainly include mold steel, auxiliary accessories (guide pillars, guide sleeves, etc.), and consumables. The key to management lies in accurate procurement and standardized storage to avoid waste. Procurement should be based on production order requirements, purchasing only as needed, avoiding blind stockpiling. Prioritize cost-effective and stable-quality raw materials, while verifying material and specifications to prevent rework and waste due to inconsistent raw materials, thus reducing costs at the source.

Raw material storage management must align with actual production needs to avoid losses. Establish dedicated raw material storage areas, classifying and storing different specifications of mold steel, accessories, etc., and ensuring proper moisture and rust prevention to prevent moisture and corrosion. Establish raw material inbound and outbound ledgers, recording each issuance and consumption, clearly assigning responsibility to prevent loss and waste. Regularly conduct inventory checks, promptly clearing accumulated scrap materials to maximize resource utilization and reduce unnecessary capital occupation.

Cost control must be closely integrated with raw material management, balancing practicality and economy. Optimize raw material usage, rationally plan material cutting dimensions, and reduce waste of scrap materials; classify and recycle recyclable scrap materials and used parts for reuse, reducing material costs. Simultaneously, establish a raw material quality inspection mechanism, strictly inspecting materials before warehousing to avoid rework in mold processing due to raw material quality issues, thus increasing additional costs. Through scientific raw material control and cost optimization, production costs are minimized while ensuring mold quality, thereby maximizing the profit margin of the mold factory.
