I. Core Characteristics of Key Components for Stamping Dies
Key components of stamping dies mainly include die cores, die bases, guide pillars, guide bushings, and cavity inserts. These components are made of high-hardness, wear-resistant materials, are difficult to machine, and have stringent requirements for dimensional accuracy, geometric tolerances, and surface quality. Specifically, the dimensional tolerances of die cores and cavity inserts must be controlled within ±0.005mm, and the fitting accuracy of guide pillars and guide bushings must reach H6/h5 grade. The precision of these components directly determines the die life and the pass rate of stamped parts. Precision machining and standardized assembly are key control points.

II. Practical Application of Precision Machining Technology for Key Components

1. Material Selection and Pre-treatment
Key components are made of high-strength die steels such as Cr12MoV, SKD11, and H13. After the raw materials arrive at the site, they undergo flaw detection to remove inclusions, cracks, and other defects. Before machining, an aging treatment is performed at a temperature controlled at 200-220℃ for 4-6 hours to eliminate internal stress in the material, reduce deformation during machining, and improve machining stability.

2. Machining Process Implementation
A progressive machining process route of "roughing - semi-finishing - finishing - final finishing" is adopted. Roughing quickly removes more than 80% of the material allowance to avoid stress concentration during finishing. Semi-finishing uses CNC milling, leaving a 0.1-0.2mm finishing allowance. Finishing uses high-precision grinding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and wire EDM to ensure that the dimensional accuracy and geometric tolerances of the parts meet the standards. During machining, carbide tools are used, and the cutting speed and feed rate are controlled, with a special cooling medium to prevent overheating and deformation of the parts, ensuring machining accuracy.

3. Surface Quality Control
After finishing, precision grinding and polishing processes are employed. The surface roughness of the mold core and cavity inserts is controlled to Ra≤0.2μm, and the surface roughness of the guide pillars and bushings is Ra≤0.025μm, reducing surface friction and improving mold wear resistance. Key working surfaces are treated with gas nitriding or PVD coating to further enhance surface hardness and extend component lifespan.
