Deep Drawing Die For Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink Bowls

The first station blanks and draws the sheet into a shallow cup. The second station deepens the shape and sets the corner radius. Between stations, the part keeps a small flange so the blank holder can grip it firmly. This step-by-step shaping prevents the metal from tearing at the bottom corners, which is a common problem with stainless steel.

The tool surfaces that touch the sheet are finished to a fine polish. This finish helps the sheet slide instead of grabbing, which lowers the chance of score marks on the sink surface. The drawing clearance is set according to the sheet thickness, so the wall does not thin too much. If the customer changes material, the die can be adjusted by changing spacers rather than re-cutting the whole cavity.

The lower die shoe has lifting pads that push the finished sink up after each stroke. This makes part removal easy for the operator and protects the drawn rim from dents. The design also leaves enough room for sensor mounting if the factory wants to add automatic part detection later.
