The shape of stamping parts can be plane, arc surface, various curved surfaces (such as spherical surface) and spatial curved surfaces (such as impeller blades). The materials of stamping parts are generally low carbon steel, high quality carbon structural steel and stainless steel. Plastic deformation can be used in almost all nonferrous metals except copper. Because stamping process depends on stamping die and stamping equipment to complete the processing, it is called cold stamping or sheet metal stamping.
