The structure of metal stamping die is generally divided into upper die and lower die. The upper die is composed of a die handle, a guide sleeve, a punch, a backing plate, a fixing plate, screws, pins, an upper die seat, and a stripping plate. The lower die is generally composed of a lower die base, a guide plate, a concave die, a baffle plate, a material bearing plate, a guide post, a screw, and a pin.

But not all stamping die structures have the above six accessories, especially single-process die, but working parts and necessary fixed parts are indispensable.

Metal molds are classified according to the combination of processes and can be divided into:

1. Single process mold

During one operation of the press, only one process of the mold is completed.

2. Composite mold

There is only one station, a die that completes two or more stamping processes in one operation of the press.

3. Continuous mode (also progressive mode)

In the feeding direction of the blank, there are two or more stations. During one operation of the press, two or more stamping processes are completed at different stations.

4. Transfer mode

Combining the characteristics of progressive die and single-process die, using manipulator to transfer, improve the production efficiency of products, reduce the production cost of products, save material costs, and make the quality more stable.
