Multi station progressive die is a kind of die with high precision, elevated efficiency and lengthy life developed on the basis of common progressive die. It is an essential representative of technology-intensive death and one of the development directions of death. In addition to punching and blanking, the mold can also complete forming processes such as reinforcing bar, punching hole, bending and deep drawing according to the characteristics of parts structure and forming properties, and even complete assembly processes in the mold. When STAMPING, THE strip material OR strip material is sent into the entrance end of the die, under the condition of strict control of the precision of the step distance, according to the order of forming process arrangement, through the continuous stamping of each station, after punching or cutting at the last station, it can punch out the stamping parts that meet the requirements of the product. In order to ensure the normal work of the multi-station progressive die, the die must have high precision guidance and accurate distance system, equipped with automatic feeding, automatic parts, safety detection and other devices. Therefore, the multi-station progressive die is more complex than the ordinary die, with the following characteristics:
(1) In a mold, can be completed including blanking, bending, deep drawing and forming and additional stamping processes; it reduces the turnover and repetitive positioning process of using multiple sets of molds, and significantly improves labor productivity and equipment utilization.
(2) Because the process in the progressive die can be scattered in different stations, so there is no "minimum wall thickness" problem of the composite die, the design can also be according to the die strength and die assembly needs to leave empty stations, so as to ensure the strength of the die and assembly space.
(3) The multi station progressive die typically has high precision internal and external guidance (in addition to the die frame guidance accuracy requirements, but also must implement the tiny punch internal guidance protection) and accurate distance system, to ensure the processing accuracy of product parts and die life.
(4) Multi station progressive die commonly adopts high-speed punch to produce stamping parts, the die adopts automatic feeding, automatic parts, safety detection and additional automation devices, safe operation, with high production efficiency. At present, the world's most advanced multi-station progressive die station number up to more than 50, stamping speed of more than 1000 times/minute.
(5) The structure of multi-station progressive die is complex, there are numerous inserts, and the precision of die manufacturing is very steep, which brings certain difficulty to the manufacturing, debugging and maintenance of die. At the same time, mold parts are required to have interchangeability, in the mold parts wear or damage after the replacement of rapid, convenient, reliable. Thus the working parts of the mold must be excellent material selection (generally high strength high alloy tool steel, high speed steel or carbide materials), must be used to slow wire cutting processing, molding grinding, coordinate boring, coordinate grinding and other advanced processing methods to manufacture the mold.
(6) Multi station progressive die is mainly used for punching thin thickness (typically not more than 2mm), large output, complex shape, high precision requirements of medium and tiny parts. The precision of the parts produced by this die can reach IT10 level.
